Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Post-Master's Certificate
In MSOE’s post-master's PMHNP certificate program, students learn how to incorporate high quality holistic care, evidence-based practice and therapeutic modalities when caring for the mental and behavioral health needs of clients in a variety of practice environments.
MSOE offers two programs, the MSN PMHNP and a post-Master's PMHNP certificate. Our unique programs specialize in a holistic approach to advanced practice mental health nursing. The programs have a strong emphasis on psychotherapy and employ holistic modalities. Upon completion of the program, in addition to AHNCC PMHNP certification, students are eligible for holistic nursing certification through the American Holistic Nurses Credentialing Center (AHNCC).
With the use of technology, simulation, innovation and direct care, the program will provide the knowledge and skills for practice in a variety of settings including inpatient facilities, community clinics, independent practice and telehealth. Students will learn to function autonomously as innovators, entrepreneurs and creative problem-solvers.
Courses are offered online and meet synchronously and asynchronously throughout the semester in addition to one on-campus immersion during the program. For full-time students, the only immersion will be in the final spring semester during PMHNP Theory 3. This immersion will require travel and attendance of activities on campus; students will be informed of the specific dates at the time the schedule is posted.

The post-master's PMHNP certificate program is endorsed by the American Holistic Nurses Credentialing Corporation (AHNCC). Our curriculum is grounded in holistic nursing philosophy, theory, and concepts consistent with the AHNA Scope and Standards of Holistic Nursing Practice.
