Scholarship Information

Types of Scholarships 

Academic Scholarships*
Scholarships awarded to new students by MSOE based on your high school cumulative GPA and your ACT or SAT scores. Academic scholarships are renewable on a yearly basis contingent on your MSOE academic performance. Please contact the MSOE Admission Office for further information.

Transfer Scholarships*
Scholarships awarded to transfer students by MSOE based on your transfer cumulative GPA. Transfer scholarships are renewable on a yearly basis contingent on your MSOE academic performance. Please contact the MSOE Admission Office for further information.

* Please note that you must be enrolled full-time to receive these scholarships.

MSOE Annual and Endowed Scholarships
MSOE has partnered with various corporations and organizations to offer scholarship opportunities. Information on currently available scholarships is available online on our Annual and Endowed Scholarships page.

FIRST Scholarship
The FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Scholarship is a competitive scholarship program for full-time incoming freshmen, who participated in FIRST any time during high school. The scholarship may be used for any undergraduate course of study at MSOE.  There are two renewable $5,000 scholarships available. To retain this scholarship, students must maintain a 2.25 cumulative grade point average at MSOE.  Full-time incoming freshmen, who participated in FIRST while in high school, will automatically receive a renewable $1,000 scholarship. Legacy Scholarship
Effective for the 2010-2011 academic year, the MSOE Legacy Scholarship is a scholarship program for full-time incoming freshmen, who have a parent or grandparent that is an alumnus of MSOE. This award is a one-time $1,000 scholarship. To be considered for this scholarship, student must indicate that the parent or grandparent is a MSOE alumnus on their admissions application. For more information on this scholarship, please contact the Financial Aid Office.

Financial Aid Office understands that searching for private scholarships can be difficult. In order to assist students in their scholarship search, our office has compiled the following private scholarship Web sites for your review. While MSOE is providing these sites we do not endorse nor are we affiliated with any of the private resource slisted.

Project Lead the Way Scholarship
The Project Lead the Way Scholarship is a scholarship awarded to full-time incoming freshmen, who took at least one Project Lead the Way course in high school. The award is a renewable $1,000 scholarship. Please note that this scholarship is not awarded pending confirmation from MSOE's Project Lead the Way Office that at least one Project Lead the Way course has been completed. For more information about this scholarship, please contact the Financial Aid Office.

Reserve Officer Training Corps
Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) is an educational program that trains students to be officers in the United States military.  Scholarship opportunities are available through all of the ROTC programs in a variety of academic majors. More information may be found on the MSOE ROTC Website.

Technology Student Association (TSA) scholarship
Technology Student Association (TSA) scholarship is a scholarship awarded to full-time incoming freshmen who are members of TSA and have participated in a regional and/or national competition. The award is a renewable $1,000 scholarship. Please note that this scholarship will be awarded once MSOE has verified your participation in the organization and what event(s) you participated in for the regional and/or national competition. For more information about this scholarship, please contact the Financial Aid Office.
