Dr. Medhat Khalil, program director of fluid power education, was a keynote speaker at the Sustainable Energy and Environmental Solutions Conference 2025 at King Khaled University, Saudi Arabia in December.

His presentation was entitled “The Human and the Energy” and dove into global energy consumption by source, by region and by sector. He also discussed current energy consumption challenges and the future of renewable energy worldwide.

The Sustainable Energy and Environmental Solutions Conference 2025 (SEESC 2025) served as an international platform for presenting innovative research, pioneering technologies and sharing impactful ideas in the fields of energy and environmental sustainability. Organized by King Khalid University in Abha, Saudi Arabia, the conference brought together scholars, industry leaders, policymakers and students to collaborate and drive progress toward a more sustainable future.

The conference featured keynote speeches, panel discussions and workshops covering a variety of themes, including energy and renewables technologies; carbon capture and utilization; waste treatment innovations; environmental impact and remediation; and circular economy and smart technologies.
