Join the MSOE Amateur Radio Club - W9HHX - for a high altitude balloon launch! This is a unique opportunity to explore near-space territory in the upper atmosphere, using a "pico-balloon": a helium balloon attached to a pico-sized payload! The payload uses amateur radio to communicate scientific data back to receiving stations on the ground. We can even track it using GPS as it travels around the earth in the jet-stream! Meet outside CC main doors and we will drive to the launch location in Veteran's Park.
