Disclaimer: Student employment is only available to MSOE students. To qualify for student employment during the academic year, you are required to be registered for at least six undergraduate credits or three graduate credits during each term of the academic year. This position is a part-time, work study position.

Job Description

The Grohmann Museum is home to the world’s most comprehensive art collection dedicated to the evolution of human work and welcomes thousands of visitors per year. Museum Associates assist with front desk operations and work alongside the museum's professional staff to ensure a positive visitor experience for the MSOE community and general public. 

Job Responsibilities 

  • Greet patrons and promote a positive visitor experience
  • Check in events and tours
  • Help manage events and K-12 programming in the summer months
  • Conduct sales and inventory in the museum store
  • Walk through the museum to monitor safety and cleanliness
  • Complete other tasks as assigned by supervisor 

Qualifications  

  • Federal work study candidates are encouraged to apply
  • Must work well with a team
  • Must possess great communication skills
  • The ideal candidate will be comfortable in customer facing roles
  • An interest in giving tours and assisting with public programs is a plus

Hours:

The Museum is open 9am-5pm on weekdays, 12-6pm on Saturdays, and 1-4pm on Sundays. We are closed on major holidays.
