Job Description

The NACME Peer Program Assistant exists to provide mentorship, leadership, and assist with program initiatives for the National Virtual Bridge (NVB) program. NACME Peer Program Assistant will work part-time during the National Virtual Bridge (NVB) program scheduled for June 23- July 25, 2025. NVB Orientation is scheduled for June 17th, 2025.

 

Responsibilities:

General:
  • Serve as a peer mentor and role model to all NACME Bridge Participants, support the development of a positive, inclusive, and welcoming learning environment
  • Track virtual & in person student engagement and complete administrative tasks in a timely and efficient manner
  • Assist students with NACME academic concerns
  • Be responsible for special staff privileges (keys, office equipment, etc.
  • Maintain confidentially and objectively in all matters related to students
  • Attend regular 1:1 and team meetings with supervisor
  • Additional projects as assigned, passion projects are encouraged and welcomed
Summer Bridge Responsibility:
  • Serve as a lead for the (NVB) program, being the point of contact for participants and leading daily group check-ins (hybrid)
  • Provide peer accountability through responding to student behavior that is inappropriate and/or in violation of campus policies and procedures; acting as a mediator in conflict situations when needed (responding according to provided training) 
  • (NVB) program Kick-off Orientation
Skills Gained:
  • Build strong interpersonal and communication skills through working with diverse groups of people
  • Develop key leadership skills through mentorship and community building initiatives
  • Gain experience working effectively and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
  • Strengthen time management and adaptability skills

Requirements & Minimum Qualifications

  • Must have a minimum cumulative grade point average {GPA) of 3.0 GPA at time of application 
  • Commit to being a NACME Peer Program Assistant for the summer 
  • Be available for the entirety of the (NVB) program

Time Commitment

  • 16-24 hours/week, from June 23- July 25, 2025
  • Students will work 2 8-hour shifts for 2 weeks and 3 8-hour shifts for 2 weeks, and the majority of these shifts will be virtual 
  • Bridge Orientation is scheduled for June 16 & 17th, 2025
Hiring Timeline:
  • Application Open: May 1- 10, 2025 
  • Application Closes: May 10th 2025
  • NACME Peer Program Assistant Interview: May 12-15 2025
  • Decision Timeline: Friday, May 16, 2025
  • NVB Program Mentor Start Day: June 16th, 2025
  • NVB program MSOE Orientation:  June 16th, 2025
  • NVB Orientation: June 17th, 2025
