Job Description
Summer Program Assistants (SPAs) work 20 to 40 hours per week on general summer support and Summer Program preparation when the summer programs are not in session. During this time, SPAs are paid hourly. Community Directors will attempt to accommodate time off requests when the Summer Programs are not in session. When the Summer Programs are in session, SPAs are paid a $1,100 weekly stipend to support Summer Program participation, including being available in an on-call rotation. They should remain on campus for the duration of the Summer Programs unless approved by a Community Director. Campus housing is provided in Viets Tower during the summer to allow SPAs to meet the varied schedules of Summer Programs and other operational needs. Summer Program Assistants (SPAs) reside with other summer residents on VT 11 and VT 12 when the summer programs are not in session. During this time, SPAs are responsible for their meals. When the Summer Programs are in session, SPAs will live alongside the Summer Program groups, with food provided for the three-week program. During this period, SPAs must stay on campus with their designation Summer Program group.

- ROAR - Thursday, July 10, 2025, Friday, July 11, 2025 (Hourly)
- Summer Programs Week 1 - July 6-July 11, 2025 (Stipend Week)
- Summer Programs Week 2 - July 13-July 18, 2025 (Stipend Week)
- Summer Programs Week 3 - July 27-August 1, 2025 (Stipend Week)
Responsibilities:
General Summer Support:
- Support departmental operations and assigned projects.
- Actively engage with Summer Programs and ROAR events.
- Report on time for staff meetings, program events, desk shifts, and duty rotations.
- Collaborate with Residence Life and campus partners (e.g., Facilities, Custodial, Public Safety) to support Summer Program groups, identify and report maintenance issues, and address safety concerns.
- Contribute to other initiatives and complete additional tasks as needed.
Summer Program Preparation:
- Support Summer Program application completion and review.
- Participate in Summer Program event planning and preparation.
- Attend mandatory Summer Program assistant training.
Summer Program Participation:
- Know and interact with all Summer Program groups.
- Organize and facilitate nightly events and floor meetings to foster community.
- Encourage Summer Program participants to communicate and work through conflicts.
