MSOE Giving Day

Thank you for your support on #MSOEDay!

On behalf of the entire MSOE community, we’d like to thank everyone who participated in Giving Day 2024! Thanks to your generosity, we raised $705,689 from 1,330 donors, making this the most impactful Giving Day to date! Stay tuned for details about Giving Day 2025.

For 24 hours, we rallied support for numerous areas of our campus including academic departments, annual scholarships, athletics, student clubs and organizations, the campus experience, the Parent and Family Fund and WMSE. Thanks to challenges and gift matches, donations had a greater impact during these 24 hours, making this day very special! “The impact of MSOE’s Giving Day, along with its influence on the MSOE community, is directly shaped by student ambassadors who play a huge role in spreading the word,” said Ashlyn Buchmann, Assistant Director of Annual Giving at MSOE.

MSOE seniors encourage peer-to-peer donations during annual Giving Day, April 18.

Nursing major May Khing, and computer science major Ben Leonard, are leading by example as they prepare to support their fellow peers and their own passions on MSOE’s upcoming Giving Day!

May, who is a student caller within the Office of University Advancement, says it is important for other students to understand the impact of donations. “As a student caller, I enjoy sharing with other alumni and donors how much the MSOE community’s support has helped us as students,” May says as a nursing student she’s personally been encouraged and supported by her peers and faculty members in the nursing program “The faculty are invested in my academic journey and want to see us all succeed.” She plans to support the nursing program on Giving Day, knowing her gift will provide resources to further enhance the clinical experience for students.

Ben, also a student caller of nearly two years, offers his unique perspective on how donors can make an impact on the student experience. “Philanthropy at MSOE opens doors to students who might not have the same opportunities.” Thanks to the generosity of philanthropic gifts, Ben was able to travel overseas as part of the German program, stay involved with the rowing team and help guide underclassmen involved in Navy ROTC. Feeling that direct impact of philanthropy, Ben is stepping up as a student ambassador this year to get the word out to his peers about Giving Day.

Both May and Ben agree giving back to the MSOE community is a rewarding experience and a means to support current and future students.
