Here are some of the spaces that enhance the education of our business students:

Gene Carter Apple Technologies Learning Suite

This is where our business and software engineering students complete much of their lab work. The suite features iMac computers, iTouch mobile devices, iPads and Apple TV digital streaming technology, along with moveable tables and chairs for small-group collaboration. The suite was made possible through the generosity of Dr. Gene Carter ’60, who earned his degree in electronic communications technology at MSOE before later becoming vice president of sales and a member of the original Apple Computer Inc. management team from 1977 to 1984.

Uihlein/Spitzer Center for Entrepreneurship

It’s not uncommon for MSOE students to develop new products, design new processes and uncover new markets. Some even launch their own businesses. This center supports the entrepreneurial efforts of students and faculty, preparing them to join business and industry in leadership roles and improve profitability and productivity. The center’s services include:

  • Business concept refinement
  • Ideation assistance
  • Financial resource identification
  • Market identification and feasibility
  • Business plan development

The center is directed by Dr. G. Woodrow Adkins, the Uihlein/Spitzer Chair of Entrepreneurship in the Rader School of Business.
