Sohum and Sheetal Sohoni Study Abroad Award
Award Overview
This award has been created to support students pursuing a study abroad experience in a new country and culture, with a focus on intercultural learning, global engagement, and academic/personal growth.
- Amount: Two $500 awards will be granted annually
- Application Timelines:
- Fall Semester/Full Academic Year Award
- Application Opens: February 1
- Application Closes: April 1
- Recipients will be notified mid-April
- Spring Semester Award
- Application Opens: August 1
- Application Closes: October 1
- Recipients will be notified mid-October
- Fall Semester/Full Academic Year Award
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be currently enrolled as a full-time MSOE undergraduate student
- Have a 2.8 or higher cumulative GPA at the time of application
- Have completed required documents to participate MSOE-approved summer, semester or year-long study abroad program (see question 10 and 11 in application form)
- Not plan to study abroad in their home country
Applicants should also demonstrate:
- A strong interest in global learning and intercultural engagement
- Commitment to sharing their experience with the MSOE community upon their return
- A clear financial need that would benefit from the award
