Located just steps from campus, Grohmann Tower offers furnished apartment-style housing for upper-level students, graduate students, and other eligible residents. With full kitchens, apartment amenities, and utilities included, residents enjoy greater independence while remaining connected to the MSOE community.

Apartment Features

  • 155 furnished apartments across 11 residential floors
  • Apartment types include 96 studios, 40 one-bedroom apartments, and 19 two-bedroom apartments
  • Furnished with a twin XL bed, dresser, desk, and desk chair for each resident
  • In-unit kitchen and bathroom
  • Resident-controlled heating and air conditioning
  • Electricity, water, and other utilities included
  • Native wireless internet and campus-wide Wi-Fi access
  • Semester, academic-year, and summer housing contracts available

Note. Studio apartments make up the majority of the housing at Grohmann Tower. One- and two-bedroom apartments are limited. Apartments are assigned based on availability.

Laundry

Residents on floors 4–10 have access to a community laundry room. Apartments on floors 11–14 include an in-unit washer and dryer.

Community and Support

Community Assistants live throughout the building and help create a welcoming community through events, resources, and support. Each residential floor on floors 4–10 has at least one Community Assistant available to assist residents and foster community engagement.

Eligibility

The following residential populations are eligible to live in Grohmann Tower:

  • Third- and fourth-year undergraduate students
  • Graduate students
  • Students who are 21 years of age or older
  • Married students
  • Faculty and staff, as space permits

Apartment Occupancy

  • Studio and one-bedroom apartments on floors 4–10 accommodate up to three residents.
  • Two-bedroom apartments on floors 6, 8, and 10 accommodate up to four residents.
  • One-bedroom apartments on floors 11–14 accommodate up to three residents.
  • Two-bedroom apartments on floors 11–14 accommodate up to five residents.

Housing Rates and Contract Options

Housing charges are assessed on a per-resident basis. Residents are responsible only for their own housing charges and are not financially responsible for roommates' or apartment-mates' housing costs. Summer housing is available. Contact Apartments at MSOE.
