Through engaging lectures and hands-on lab experiences, students will understand the security fundamentals, technical topics including cryptography, penetration testing, and secure software development, and learn how to construct and defend computer systems and networks in production environments. 

Students will also obtain important skills that will better prepare them for a challenging and rewarding career in cybersecurity with the ability to work in multiple security-related areas or pursue advanced degrees and certifications.

Accreditation

This program was developed to meet or exceed requirements of the ABET CAC Cybersecurity Criteria and was designed in alignment with the National Center of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity (NCAE-C) program for Cyber Defense (CD). Formal program accreditation cannot occur until after the first class of graduates anticipated in 2030.
